There are moments when the body asks us to slow down. Not necessarily to do more, but quite the opposite: to stop, breathe and let the mind rest.
In the Ayurvedic tradition, caring for the head has a special place. Massaging the scalp, face, neck and shoulders is not seen only as a gesture of physical care, but as part of a wider experience of presence, relaxation and connection with yourself.
This inspiration also shapes the way we offer the Head Spa at Lavanda Zen.
The Ayurvedic origin of head massage
Ayurveda is an ancient tradition from India that looks at well-being from a holistic view of the whole person.
Among its different practices we find Shirochampi, a traditional head massage that mainly works on the scalp, head, neck and shoulders.

The rhythm of the massage, the mindful touch and the attention given to these areas create a space where it becomes easier to switch off from outside noise and spend a few minutes entirely on your own well-being.
At Lavanda Zen we have brought this Ayurvedic inspiration into our new Head Spa rituals, combining it with scalp care techniques, facial massage and different relaxing elements.

Much more than hair care
When we talk about Head Spa, it is easy to think only of the hair or the scalp.
Our approach, however, goes a little further.
During the ritual different sensations come together: the touch of the hands, the massage, the water, the steam, the scents and mindful care.
The aim is to create an experience in which you can simply be present.
A moment to close your eyes, step away from the pace of the day and let your body release tension little by little.
Ritual Head Spa
Nuestro Ritual Head Spa lasts 60 minutes.
It combines the Head Spa experience with different Ayurveda-inspired techniques, with Shirochampi massage as one of the main parts of the ritual.
The experience includes:
- Shirochampi head massage
- Neck, shoulder and arm massage
- Facial massage
- Facial micro-peeling and hydration
- Hair steam and chromotherapy
- Personalised treatment for the hair and scalp
It is designed for anyone who wants to enjoy a moment of deep care, calm and disconnection.
Ritual Ayurveda Head Spa
For those who want to go even deeper into the experience, we have created the Ritual Ayurveda Head Spa, which lasts 90 minutes.
In this ritual we also include Shirodhara, a traditional Ayurvedic practice in which a gentle, continuous stream of warm oil flows over the forehead.
The experience is completed with Shirochampi head massage, facial massage, work on the neck, shoulders, arms and legs, and care for the hair and scalp.
Rather than adding techniques, the intention is to create a longer, slower space where you can leave the rush behind and give yourself completely to the moment.

Two different ways to experience the Head Spa
Everyone arrives with different needs.
Sometimes we simply want to stop for an hour.
Other times we feel we need a fuller, deeper experience.
That is why we have created two ways to discover the Head Spa:
Ritual Head Spa — 60 minutes
Ritual Ayurveda Head Spa — 90 minutes
Both rituals share the same essence: creating a space of care, attention and presence. You will find all the details and prices on each ritual's page.

A moment to come back to yourself
Self-care doesn't always have to be complicated.
Sometimes it simply starts by allowing ourselves to stop.
A massage, a few minutes of silence, feeling the water, breathing calmly or letting someone else take care of us for a while.
Our Head Spa rituals come from exactly that idea.
To create a space where the mind can rest, the body can relax and you can reconnect with yourself.
